      Today (i.e. June 2005) RIT has 89 faculty members; out of which there are three Ph.Ds, 25 M.Techs and four faculty members are having M.Phil qualification. The Student-Faculty ratio is below 1:15, which is better than AICTE Norms.

     The faculty at RIT endeavours to develop the students as qualified engineers in the specializations offered and also to develop management and entrepreneurship qualities in them to start their own industry and be a leader. The faculty at RIT includes qualified men and women with varied professional and academic backgrounds fulfilling the norms of AICTE, New Delhi. They represent an excellent blend of teaching and experienced professionals from industries and various institutes. Faculty details are summarized below for a quick reference:
Faculty Training:

     RIT has been putting significant emphasis on teaching-learning process since its inception. For the benefit of faculty of RIT, NITTTR (National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research), Chennai has organized a weeklong Training program on "Instructional Design and Delivery" during 12-17 december 2005. About 55 junior faculty members are trained by NITTTR this year.

Improvement of Teaching Faculty/NTS Qualifications ans Skills:

     RIT has been constantly encouraging faculty members to improve their academic qualifications by way of pursuing various Mater's and Doctoral programmes offered by different Universities.

     The college has so far deputed 21 of its teachers for acquiring higher degree (Ph.D.: 7No., M.Tech.: 14No.) under its own quality improvement programme. Two teachers have successfully returned till date with M.Tech. qualification.

     During the academic year 2005-'06, four faculty members have been deputed for M.Tech. degree in different disciplines and five faculty members have been permitted to do Ph.D.(part-time).
