Frequency
of the Board Meetings and Academic Advisory Body
The
Board of Governors will meet at least twice in a year and as frequently as may
be required. The Academic Monitoring Committee (AMC) meets at least once in each
semester. Its decisions and recommendations are discussed & finalized at the
meetings of the Heads of the Departments with Principal as Chairman. The
decisions taken are implemented by the Individual
Departments.

Principal
is the Academic head of the College. He is assisted by the Dean (Students
Welfare) and the Advisory Committees constituted for various functions. A Strong
team of supporting staff renders necessary support to the academic activities of
the College, as per the schedules and policies laid down by the

Nature
and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/
improvements
At the
Department level, Head of the Department will organize the Academic Programmes
and review the progress of the Academic work, involving the class teacher, and
the class student representatives. Faculty members are encouraged to adopt new
methods and techniques in teaching. The suggestions from students and teachers
are examined and good suggestions are adopted.
Students
counseling is in practice in the institute. 15 students are attached to each
faculty. They meet every week and the member of the faculty In-charge gathers
information about their problems and progress in studies and counsels
them.

Mechanism/Norms
& Procedure for democratic/good Governance
The
Mechanism introduced is student centered, with the objective that the fruits of
the various steps taken shall reach the stakeholders – students and the parents.
A system of student evaluation has been introduced. Feedback from the students is
taken.
Complaint
boxes are kept in the College. Each Department undertakes student counseling
under a team of competent teachers of the Department. The inputs for improvement
are from various forums like students, parents, teachers and visiting experts.
They are discussed at various levels. Parents are kept informed of the progress
of their wards. Meetings with parents are organized.

and Placement Cell has been established to help RIT students getting placement.
Ms P. Madhuri, Training & Placement Officer, who has considerable experience
in industry, has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Training &
Placement Officer.

RACE
A
Centre by name ‘Regency Academy for Career Excellence’ (RACE) has been set up in
the College campus in collaboration with Nicco Ventures to provide coaching
facility to prepare the students for Competitive Examinations, viz. Engineering
Services, Central Services (IAS, IPS etc.), GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, GATE, etc. The coaching in this Centre is provided
beyond college hours by specialized faculty.

RIT
has been encouraging merit by providing free education to the toppers at the
higher secondary level, from all the 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh and also of
the four parts of the Union Territory of Puducherry. RIT encourages National
integration and cultural interaction among the students from all over India by
offering free seats to the students from the North-Eastern States of India, i.
e. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura,
Sikkim and the most backward region of Gorkhaland of West Bengal. Thus, RIT has
a mix of students from various geographical locations and
backgrounds.
Besides,
the management has been kind enough to waive the fee (in part or full) in case
of poor and deserving students, the details of which are included in the above
tables.

The
Government of Puducherry has reserved 50% of the seats allotted, branch wise,
under its quota and the remaining 50% of seats are marked under management
quota. For the Government seats admission test (JET) is conducted by the
convener entrance test nominated by Government, i. e. CENTAC. For the management
quota seats, RIT is permitted to conduct the entrance test under the supervision
of the Admission committee appointed by the Government under the Chairmanship of
a retired High Court Judge.

all the candidates appeared for Entrance Test are offered seats till the cut off
date, the rankers who have not turned up for counseling are obviously not
interested and therefore, maintaining a waiting list does not arise.

refunds the fee in case of sliding by continuous counseling conducted by CENTAC.
