Dr Kumar Babu pursued his B.Tech.(Mechanical Engg.) from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur and M.Tech. (Heat Power Engg.) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engg. by carrying out research work in the area of Eco-friendly Hydrocarbon Refrigeration and Air conditioning Systems from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore under the guidance of Dr S.R.Devadasan, Professor, Department of Production Engg., PSG college of Technology, Coimbatore.
With around 15 years of Teaching experience in Engineering colleges in the domain of Mechanical Engineering, Dr Kumar Babu also possess 3 years of Industrial experience in the field of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning. He has 4 publications in referred International/National Journals and presented 16 Technical papers in International/National Conferences. He has guided 30 projects for UG students and 12 projects for PG students in Mechanical Engineering. He is an approved Research Supervisor in Mechanical Engineering for Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore and currently a Doctoral member for 3 Research Scholars pursuing Ph.D. in the area of Thermal Engineering and Total Quality Management in Mechanical Industries.
Dr Kumar Babu has professional memberships in Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), Institution of Engineers,India(IEI)through which he had organized Seminars/Workshops/Faculty Development Programmes in the advanced topics of Mechanical Engineering. With the ISO Auditor training from Zandig TQM Solutions, Bangalore he acted as Deputy Management Representative for Documentation and Internal Audit of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System for Engineering Institutions.
Along with Teaching and Research, Dr Kumar Babu also has hands on Academic Administration as Academic In-charge and Deputy Controller of Examinations at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Satyamangalam carrying out the activities of Academic affairs and Internal Assessment.
