A Brief Introductory Note on RIT

Regency Institute of Technology was established at Yanam, UT of Puducherry in the year 2000 and has grown to the level where it is recognized as one of the most reputed colleges around here.

The college is considered to be a unique one in view of the following special features associated with it.

·The promoter is Dr. G. N. Naidu, Chairman & Managing Director, Regency Group of Industries, Yanam who himself is an engineer and a well known industrialist.  He has promoted as Group of Industries in and around Yanam under the flagship of Regency. 

·The management of Regency Group of Industries promoted educational institutions from Primary to  Post - Graduate level by opening doors to the local people to receive education at all levels.

·Regency Institute of Technology is located in this rural area with an objective to develop these backward areas by providing opportunities to the rural population to receive higher technical education.

·Since the college is promoted by industrialists, it facilitates the students of the college to receive training in the industry to gain on-hand experience, which makes the students of this college to stand ahead of the students of the other colleges.

·Ours being a large country with different languages, culture and civilizations, in order to encourage      national integration, the management offers 14 free seats to the students from the following states every year viz.,

·Ghurkhaland of West Bengal (most backward area) and

Every year students from these areas are joining this college.

·By virtue of its location in Puducherry State students from Mahe, Karaikal and Puducherry are admitted here through government quota.

·Thus, there is a blend of students from different parts of the country in the campus. This enables the  students to exchange their culture and learn the languages.  Such an interactive facility is provided in the campus for them where they share the accommodation and food to live together.

·Special classes are arranged for the sake of the students coming from other states of the country to enable them to learn and write Telugu as an additional qualification.

·Meritorious students from poor families are also offerred free education.

·Regency Institute of Technology also encourages merit by offering free education to the toppers of  the Higher Secondary Level from all the 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh and also from the four parts of the Union Territory of Puducherry viz., Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam.

·The college is known for its strict discipline and totally free from fooling and ragging of the new entrants.

·Moral and Ethical classes are introduced in the timetable to correct the students attitude and induce right personal traits in their minds.

·Regency Institute of Technology conducts its own entrance test and admits students on merit basis.

·Placement Cell gives additional training to the students to equip them with soft skills and technical skills.

·Programmes offered are CSE, IT, ME, ECE, EEE at UG level and MBA, MCA at PG level.
